Problem Details :

Having the following error while sending email using Outlook Express .

" An unknown error has occurred. Account: 'emal@yourdomain.com', Server: 'mail.yourdomain.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC0B "


Solution :

Set up the account as follows ::

Tools >> Accounts >> Add >> Mail


Display Name :- your name
E-mail address :- full email address
My incoming mail is a :- POP3 Server
Incoming mail(POP3,IMAP or HTTP) server :- mail.yourdomainname.com
Outgoing mail (SMTP) server : mail.yourdomainname.com
Account name :- full email address
Password :- password

DO NOT CHECK the box for 'Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA)'

Click 'Finish'

Click on your account and then on Properties.

Under the tab 'Server' make sure you CHECK 'My server requires authentication'

Click Apply.

Please note :

Under the tab 'Server' make sure you CHECK 'My server requires authentication'

make sure you have followed the instructions well.There will be no issue in that case.
